Social Media Updates
Social Media Updates

Are you on top of the latest social media tools and features? Here’s a look at this month’s social media roundup’s:

We’re now able to share live videos directly to IGTV after they’re done recording.

Previously, Instagram lives could only be uploaded as stories and they would disappear after 24 hours whilst also being broken up into 15-second chunks.

Now, your Instagram Live can be shared as one video on IGTV as soon as the broadcast is over.

If you haven’t started using Instagram Live for your business yet, now is the perfect time! Instagram Live is a great channel for driving new followers, engagement and selling products.

A new way to respond to Tweets with an Emoji.

After recently launching reactions to DM’s, it appears that Twitter has a few more emoji updates in the pipeline.

The focus over the last few months for the platform has been working on ways to make the platform less prone to spreading misleading and false information. However, it looks as though the company is also focusing on ways to improve interactions and engagement.

Twitter has been testing a new option which would enable you to react to a tweet with an emoji, amongst the various other response options.

We are still yet to see any official update to the platform, but we’ll keep you updated when we hear more!

Screen time management and restricted mode feature on TikTok.

Initially, TikTok gave its users the opportunity to limit screen time to two hours per day. Now users and parents can select new time limits of 40, 60, 90, or 120 minutes and decide how much time they want to spend on the app per day.

Additionally, TikTok is also improving its restricted viewing mode function that harnesses the power of AI, to filter videos for audiences that do not want to view certain types of content.

This new functionality can be enabled by heading to TikTok’s settings, in the digital wellbeing section.

New Facebook shops.

Facebook’s on-platform shops have had a refresh, and if you’re familiar with them, the basic idea is the same.

Shops are virtual storefronts where your customers can browse, explore, and even purchase your products, directly from your Instagram business account and Facebook business Page.

You can customise the look of your virtual storefront, for example, with customisable fonts and colouring, and users can convert and checkout without ever having to leave the app.

We’ll be back next month with more updates you should be aware of!”,
